The Merrill Hotel, Muscatine, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

This hotel is one of the cleanest and friendliest I have stayed at. From the time I had questions before reservation, to the quickest check in and out. It was amazing. Want to give a shout out to Kelsey at the front desk. Not sure when she slept, but she was there at the time I reserved the room, to check-in just a few hours later, to the next day at check out. She made it all very smooth and welcoming. Also Kara was able to attend to all the wedding party needs. Would recommend to all.

The standard room was standard size, very small. However, it was SUPER clean and the service was perfect! The food was delicious. I only had one complaint, the lamp above the corner chair in our room hangs so low it could double as a hat. Other than that, I would stay again and again. It was safe and the staff was at our service any time we rang! Bravo Muscatine..

My husband and I were just discussing the best hotels we’ve stayed in and realized we hadn’t left a review for the Merrill. We stayed over Valentine’s Day weekend and were blown away by the quality of every aspect of the hotel. The staff were so kind and welcoming. The hotel itself is stunning! The pool area is possibly the most beautiful we’ve seen indoors. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The food was delicious and the staff were so gracious. We would absolutely return!

Wonderful, quaint and clean hotel! Everyone there is so friendly, the breakfast is absolutely phenomenal. Beautiful place right on the Mississippi river! And it’s a Marriott so you know you’re getting good quality!

Outstanding Staff and Hotel. I’ve been wanting to bring my wife to this hotel for the longest time and finally was able to. We arrived on Friday November 28, 2025 just before a major snowstorm hit the Midwest. Driving up to the main hotel entrance was very convenient. The lobby was very elegant with Christmas decorations and a tree as well as the dining area and the bar. I can’t say enough kind words for all the hotel staff as well as our server for breakfast, which was absolutely fantastic. Parking was convenient with either garage parking (but you have to get there early enough as spots were limited) or plenty of parking in outdoor lots. Our room was a King with a view of the Mississippi River. Rooms are very clean and decorated very nicely. The only downside with this type room was the bathroom counter which we felt was a little too small as well as only half door to the shower (burr!). Waking up the next morning after the snowfall over night was a breathtaking view of the riverfront and the fresh fallen snow covered trees on the Illinois side of the river. Other than that The Merrill Hotel has my highest recommendation to stay here. My wife is hard to please and has excellent taste when it comes to hotels and she definitely wants to come back here and stay in the Chairman Suite.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Merrill Hotel in Muscatine. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt warm, welcoming, and genuinely well-run. Shae, the manager, deserves special recognition: She was attentive, professional, and made sure everything about our stay went smoothly. One of the unexpected highlights was the restaurant. We ended up having breakfast there every morning because it was just that good. The service was consistently excellent, and Anna, our server, was friendly, attentive, and so fun to talk to. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Great hotel, amazing staff, and exceptional service. Highly recommended!

Great service! There to attend an event without a reservation to stay. Front desk booked us a room at a great rate. Had drinks at the bar, very well made. Room was clean and views were spectacular!

Exceptionally friendly staff and a very beautiful hotel. Rooms were clean, pool area was really nice, and the upscale restaurant on the main floor made it possible to spend our entire stay relaxing as a couple without ever needing to leave. The park and river right across the street provides a good place to enjoy the outdoors without having to go far. Probably the nicest hotel I have ever experienced. We enjoyed a great anniversary date night while staying close to home.
